Ways to listen to WREN
If you are in the Charlottesville area you can hear us on 97.9. Our signal is generally good in the city and urban ring. To the north, we are good through Ruckersville. We also have a good signal on Interstate 64 to near Waynesboro and in Afton. A usable signal is available in Lake Monticello. We are licensed as a non-commercial low power FM (LPFM) station so our signal foot print in less than most other local radio stations.
We have Google Android and Apple iOS APPs. We are also available on Apple Car Play. For Amazon Alexa, the primary invocation is “Alexa, Play 9-7-9 The WREN“. This stream has NO host added commercials! Our original invocation, “Alexa play W-R-E-N” (with each individual letter spelled out) still works. That feed is hosted by “Tune In”. They recently started adding commercials to our feed so we don’t recommend its use anymore.

Good afternoon. I live in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, and have recently found your station on line (through radio.net) I listen to the radio 7-1/2 hours a day (at work) and, every now and again, search for a new station to listen to, down south, because we haven’t this type of format here (supported by listeners) with no/few commercials, and because I grow tired of the same old songs in rotation (with the odd new one thrown in)
I wanted to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your station, so far this past two weeks. Foremost, I have appreciated the selection of music, and also the DJs, and certainly the few commercials. Will have to check out the weekends as well. You’re doing a good thing. Keep it up.
